Accessibility statement

Last updated 1 September 2026.

People arrive at a therapy website tired, distressed, or in pain. Design that assumes a well-rested visitor with perfect vision and a steady hand fails exactly the people it is supposed to serve. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

What is in place

  • Semantic headings in a logical order, with one h1 per page
  • A skip link to the main content as the first focusable element
  • Full keyboard operability, with a visible focus outline on every interactive element
  • Text contrast tested against the AA thresholds, including on coloured backgrounds
  • Tap targets sized for WCAG 2.2 target-size guidance, including in the footer and navigation — automated scanners do not test this, so it was checked by hand
  • Alt text on informative images; decorative images carry an empty alt so screen readers pass over them rather than reading a filename
  • Form fields with real labels, error messages tied to their inputs, and errors described in words rather than by colour alone
  • FAQ disclosures built on native <details>, so they work with JavaScript disabled
  • Respect for the reduced-motion preference
  • Text that reflows at 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling
  • No auto-playing media, no carousels, no pop-ups over the content

What we know is outstanding

We would rather list these than imply the work is finished.

  • The downloadable guides are being re-set as tagged, screen-reader-accessible PDFs before they are published. That is why the resources page currently shows them as in preparation rather than offering inaccessible files.
  • The client portal and any scheduling system are operated by a third party. Their accessibility is theirs, not ours, and we raise problems with them when clients report them.
  • A full screen-reader pass with NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver is scheduled before launch, alongside automated testing. Automated tools catch perhaps a third of real barriers, so they are the start of the process rather than the evidence of success.

Getting what you need another way

Everything on this site is available by phone. If a form, a page or a document is not working for you, call and a person will take you through it. Requesting an appointment never depends on being able to use a web form.

The office

Tell us in advance if you need step-free access, a ground-floor room, extra time, a quieter waiting arrangement, or a support person with you, and we will arrange it. Asking is not an imposition. Office and visiting details.
